What counts as a session
- A session starts when the DevTools, a CDP client such as Puppeteer or Chrome DevTools MCP, or a CLI page command attaches to a page. Further clients join the running session.
- On Free it ends after 15 minutes, or shortly after the last client disconnects. Reloading the DevTools does not start a new session.
- Device lists,
targets list,status,doctor,devices …,account,login,upgrade,agent-contextandskillsnever use a session. - When a session ends, the app shows the remaining quota and a button for the next session. It only counts once you click it.
When the quota is used up
The app shows when the next free session is available and offers Pass and Pro. The CLI returns SUBSCRIPTION_REQUIRED with the same information; agents should not retry before then. The quota renews at midnight local time. Check your status any time:

Buy from Settings › License or in Terminal:

tapscope upgrade proBoth open the checkout of Polar, the merchant of record. Polar handles payment, invoices and taxes, and emails you a license key.
Activate the key
Paste the key into Settings › License and click Activate, or run:
tapscope login <key>- Pass: valid until it expires, also offline.
- Pro: checked about once a day; it keeps working for 7 days without a connection. When the subscription ends, the license is removed at the next check.
Move to another Mac
A Pass can be active on 1 Mac, Pro on 2 Macs. To move an activation, release it on the old Mac first:

Cancel Pro
Pro is an annual subscription that you cancel yourself in the Polar customer portal; the link is in your purchase email. After cancelling, Pro no longer renews. When the subscription ends, Polar revokes the license key and Tapscope removes the license at its next check, about once a day; the Free plan applies again.
A Pass is a one-time purchase. It never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.
Refunds and taxes
Prices include applicable taxes. Payment, tax and refunds are handled by Polar; the purchase terms and refund policy will be published before checkout opens.
