Scope
These terms apply between you and DREAMARTS, Grundstrasse 54, 8427 Rorbas, Switzerland ("we"), to the Tapscope Mac app, the tapscope command-line tool, their updates and the documentation on tapscope.ch. By installing or using Tapscope, you accept these terms. If you use Tapscope for a company, you accept them on its behalf.
Polar Software Inc. sells Pass and Pro as merchant of record. Payment, invoices, taxes and the purchase contract follow Polar's terms of sale, which you accept at checkout.
License
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Tapscope for private and professional purposes, within the plan you use. Tapscope remains our property. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app. A Pass or Pro license key is for you or your organization and may not be published or shared outside it.
Plans
- Free: all features, limited to 2 debug sessions of 15 minutes per day on one Mac. No license key needed.
- Pass: a one-time purchase of €19. Unlimited debugging for 7 days on 1 Mac from activation. It does not renew.
- Pro: an annual subscription of €99. Unlimited debugging on 2 Macs. It renews every year until you cancel it in the Polar customer portal. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid year.
Current prices, including applicable taxes, are on the pricing page. What counts as a debug session is explained in Plans and billing.
Activation and license checks
A license key is activated per Mac. To activate and check it, the app contacts Polar, as described in the privacy policy. Pro is checked about once a day and keeps working for 7 days without a connection. To move an activation, release it on the old Mac first (tapscope logout). When a Pro subscription ends, or a key is revoked after a refund or misuse, Tapscope returns to the Free plan.
Refunds and right of withdrawal
Try Tapscope on the Free plan before you buy: it includes every feature. We do not offer voluntary refunds beyond what the law requires. Your statutory rights remain unaffected. These include mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence and warranty rights for defects. If you are a consumer in the EU, your right of withdrawal for digital content may end once you agree at checkout that the license is provided immediately. Polar processes refunds that are owed under statutory law. To request one, write to support@tapscope.ch.
Permitted use
- Inspect only devices, apps, websites and pages that you own, or that you are authorized to test.
- Respect applicable law and the rights of others, especially for personal data you see while debugging.
- Do not circumvent license checks, the free quota or the code signature, and do not reverse engineer the app beyond what the law allows.
- You are responsible for exposing the CDP endpoint. With remote access turned on, anyone who can reach your Mac can inspect pages and run JavaScript in them.
Third-party components
Tapscope contains open-source components under their own licenses, among them the Chrome DevTools frontend (BSD 3-Clause), React DevTools (MIT), Sparkle (MIT) and SwiftNIO (Apache 2.0). Those licenses take precedence for the respective components. The full texts are in the app under Tapscope › About Tapscope › Third-Party Licenses….
Availability and updates
Tapscope depends on interfaces of Apple, Google and browser vendors that may change. We document known limits on the limitations page and fix problems through updates where we reasonably can. We do not guarantee that future features will be added or that new operating system versions will be supported immediately. Windows and Linux are not part of the current offer.
Warranty
Tapscope does what the documentation on tapscope.ch describes. Beyond that, and to the extent the law permits, we give no warranty that it is free of errors or works on every device and every setup. The Free plan is provided as is.
Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for personal injury, and wherever mandatory law requires. Otherwise, and to the extent the law permits, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for Tapscope in the twelve months before the damage occurred. We are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect damage, except where mandatory law requires.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when plans, functions or the law change. The date at the top shows the current version. For a running Pro subscription, changes take effect at the next renewal; you can cancel before then.
Law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction is the registered office of DREAMARTS. If you are a consumer, the mandatory law and courts of your country of residence remain available to you.
